At the beginning of the 1950s, Adjutori Roma Altarriba (in the above photo, fourth from the left) opened a small grocery shop at 21 High Street Avinyó (Bages). A year later, with his wife Dolors Fuster Medalla, they extended the shop to include a small abattoir and workshops to make embutidos and butifarras.

Their aim from the start was "to offer the client good quality and service".In 1974, the success of the Roma family’s products led to the opening of a new abattoir, exclusively for the slaughter and cutting of pork, in its present day location on the outskirts of the Avinyó urbanisation.

Now, Grup Roma has its own farms and numerous companies dedicated to the slaughter, production, commercialisation and exportation of pork products, giving us strict control over each process, and therefore offering extraordinary quality.

Our philosophy has not changed, we continue with the same values our founders instilled in us : we search for excellence in all we do, combining tradition with technological innovation, continually offering our clients impeccable service and our consumers products of maximum quality. As a result, Grup Roma is considered as the benchmark in pork products.
